The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is an excellent option if you're looking for a robotic mop and vacuum that's priced in the middle. It's got a fantastic mopping performance but lacks some of the advanced features that are found in its more expensive counterpart.
During testing it was able to handle dust and dry oats on medium-pile carpet as well as pet hair on hard floors. It doesn't employ LIDAR, however, like cheaper models do to map your home.
1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the most highly-rated robot vacuums. It offers impressive cleaning power and plenty of features that include the self-emptying dirt container built into its charging base. This robot can also learn your cleaning habits and suggest automatic schedules for a truly hands-free experience.
It's easy to set up thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the process. Once the system is set up it can begin automated cleaning with a single button click. You can opt for an overall clean that focuses on cleaning up larger debris like rice and cereal or go for two thorough maps of your space to ensure your entire home has a clean and tidy appearance.
This robot vacuum performs well on floors that are unfinished and carpets with a low pile. It is able to take large objects and doesn't lose suction as rapidly as some others do and can clean up pet hair with ease. It has a difficult time with high-pile carpets or plush carpets however iRobot claims that future models will be more efficient.
The S9+ is a new design from iRobot that concentrates on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the very first Roomba that has a flat-fronted D-shaped design. The company hopes this will allow it hug the furniture and walls. It's a significant improvement over hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are common however we found it to be only marginally superior to circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also has a superior filtration system which blocks micro-sized particles and allergens from circulating in your home. We think this is a nice claim however, it's not enough to justify a higher price.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of a combination of sensors to remember the layout of your home and vSLAM technology for mapping the interior. This allows it to avoid obstacles, like stairs and other barriers, and to tidy up your whole home in the most efficient way possible. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and schedule cleaning times, and create virtual boundary markers, so that it can recognize areas that require extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it is about robots that can combine vacuuming and mopping, the Roborock Q Revo stands out. Its vacuum settings are just as effective as those found on more expensive models. Its mopping system is superior because its spinning pads scrub your floors much better than the vibrating pads.
The only drawback is that it lacks an additional rubber brush to provide more thorough cleaning, but it's a small price to pay if you want one of the best robots available. The robo-vac's dust tank larger than many of its rivals, and it takes just two or three cycles to fill it up, even with the maximum dirt level.
As for the mopping device, I was awestruck with its ability to scrub tough dirt from my floors. Its two lowest mopping settings that are less powerful than high-powered ones, create low noise, which means you can work or even watch TV without being distracted. If it comes into contact with the wall or a piece of furniture it gently bumps into it before moving forward.
What really sets the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to function almost completely autonomously, requiring only a little for human intervention. The robo-vac features a multi-function dock that automatically moves physical garbage into the bin hidden in the background, as well as cleans and drys the mop pads, and refills its clean water tank. The app is capable of alerting you when something requires attention, for example, the water tank that is running out of clean or a scheduled vacuuming session that was cancelled because of a full dust bin.
You can also combine or create actual rooms in order to personalize the way Q Revo handles your home. This is an excellent feature for those who have multiple areas of the home with different flooring materials or there's clutter that needs to be removed frequently, like clothes, toys, and books. The robot vacuum was also among the best performers in my test cleaning up debris from carpets and hardwood floors with the first attempt. It can even vacuum up wet spills but I would suggest wiping them dry with a cloth before sending the robot in.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd expect from a high-end robot vacuum and mop and more. Like the iRobot Roomba S9+, it has an excellent vacuum with powerful suction that cleans carpet and hard floors, plus an omni-rotating mop that scrubs tough stains. It also has self-cleaning bases that automatically cleans and empty the mop pads, keeping them clean and ready for use again. It also features a new sensor system that is able to better detects obstacles, giving it the ability to avoid falling over furniture and other objects.
The biggest improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this model has a sleeker, more modern design thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for Bang & Olufsen products). The robot is still big. It measures over two feet in both height and depth, and weighs almost four pounds. However, the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo and iRobot j7.
This version is more efficient than the X1 because it charges more quickly and can clean up 1,500 square feet in one charge. It also comes with a larger and more durable dustbin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.
Lastly, the X2 Omni has a more user-friendly app and voice assistant that operates offline, so you can control it even when you're not home. It also has a smart routing feature that lets it clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead of following a predetermined path.
The Omni Omni is the most effective mopping performance of any robot we've tested because of its mop pads that rotate to remove tough stains and a motor that generates plenty of downward pressure. The vacuuming capabilities are also outstanding, and it also increases suction when it senses a carpet to ensure a thorough cleaning. It has a large rechargeable battery that lasts up to seven days. The mopping mode of the robot is also very effective.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a high-end robot vacuum and mop that comes with a host of features that you aren't likely to find on robots in this price. It is able to create precise floor maps and recognize different types of flooring. It's also one of the few robots that can automatically clean and dry its mop pad. These features are great, but they also place the L10s in the class of luxury. This could mean it's more expensive than homeowners need.
It is designed to look like a modern floor cleaner designed to look like a modern floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim device with an elegant white finish that's enhanced by mirror-plated silver elements. The front of the machine is dominated by an enormous bumper, which protects furniture and the vacuum from damage while moving around the house. Sensors are concealed behind the front pane, which helps the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top, you'll find a single button that essentially acts as an on/off switch. The button will activate the vacuum. By pressing it again, you can turn it off and send it to its base station. Its mops are also quite efficient, taking away 98.4% of debris on our tile, wood, and carpet tests. It was not as effective in here removing sand from the hard flooring or quaker oats off the carpet.
